Sarah Johnson (she/her)
Phil and I have two kids: Sophie is in 4rd grade and Oliver is in 6th grade at Kellogg. We moved from Seattle in 2020 and fell in love with the community here in Foster-Powell. My husband and I are both former middle-school teachers. I now work as an Area Manager for Stumptown Coffee while my husband teaches math and science at Mount Scott Learning Center. I teach a children's dance class on Saturdays at Tango Beretin and our summers are spent helping out at the Portland Pickles baseball games. We have two dogs, Billie and PD, and in our spare time love to hike, do crossword puzzles, go on family bike rides, and hang out at the many fun spots in our neighborhood.
Sadie Bach (she/her)
I have a first-grader at Arleta and a four-year-old. My husband Travis and I have lived in the Foster-Powell neighborhood for over 12 years. Witnessing the area's growth and development has been a joy. I am passionate about connecting with our community, and I am absolutely thrilled to be part of the PTA team.
In my spare time, I enjoy family bike rides, hiking, traveling, swimming, and working in the garden.
Tiffany Blackmon (she/her)
I have a kindergartener, and a third grader at Arleta, as well as a two-year-old. I grew up in the Foster-Powell neighborhood and lived here until I moved away for college, and was thrilled to return to the neighborhood as an adult to raise a family. When I'm not volunteering with kids' activities, I serve as General Counsel for Cascadia Health, and spend my free time baking, trying new restaurants and coffee shops, and volunteering on the board of the Junior League of Portland.
David Bui (he/him)
This will be my first year as PTA Treasurer at Arleta Elementary. My wife Marisea, our son Julian, our dog Finnick, and I are proud to call this vibrant school and neighborhood home. When I'm not crunching numbers for the PTA, you can find me crunching numbers for the Portland VA where I do health research. You'll likely find our family camping in Oregon's beautiful outdoors or tending to our garden (which often means an ongoing battle with weeds). We're a family that loves to learn and try new things - we're constantly picking up random hobbies and skills, much to our own amusement and occasional frustration. It's this enthusiasm for learning and community involvement that I'm excited to bring to my role as PTA treasurer.
Brian (he/him) & Savannah (she/her) Dombeck
We have called Portland home since 2017, moving from Eugene where we met during Brian’s graduate studies at the University of Oregon, where Savannah worked in administration.
We are the proud parents of three wonderful children: Harrison, a spirited first grader at Arleta; Vivian, an energetic and imaginative 3.5-year-old; and Hazel, our family’s delightful one-year-old.
We love the Arleta community and are looking forward to our first year as joint secretaries on the PTA. When we're not managing the busy life of three young children, we enjoy paddle boarding, attending concerts, and have recently picked up pickleball as a new hobby.
Sheryl Moren (she/her)
I'm a 2nd generation, neurodivergent, cishet, Filipina born and raised in SE PDX. We have a 5th grader, Viviana, and 7th grader, Quincy, at Kellogg. My husband Bunk and I have lived in the neighborhood since 2006. This is my 5th year leading the Inclusion Committee (IC). IC is dedicated to celebrating intersecting identities, strengthening our historically marginalized communities, and supporting Racial Equity & Social Justice (RESJ) initiatives within our school. I began working in children's mental health in 1997 and have been a psychiatric provider since 2004. I enjoy gardening, home improvement/repair, thinking like MacGyver, dancing, and being silly with my family.
Melissa Sircy (she/her)
I have a 5th grader, Eliza, and a senior, Athan, at Franklin. Hard to believe this is our last year at Arleta after my son started here in 2015! I've really loved the connections I've made with parents and staff while volunteering with the PTA, and I'm really excited to continue supporting the work of the Inclusion Committee. I also work on the weekly Dolphin Digest newsletter + the reader board. I'm an Oregon native and have lived in SE for 23 years with my husband, Matt. In my free time I like doing puzzles, playing softball, learning Spanish, and walking around the neighborhood with our dog, Jazz.
Lisa Hugelier (she/her)
I moved to Portland from Southeast Michigan in 2006. I enjoy camping, hiking, paddle boarding, seeing live music, reading, and just spending time with my family. I have three children who will all be at Arleta this year. My son Henry is in 5th grade, Emmett is in 3rd, and my youngest, Nora, is in Kindergarten! We love the Arleta community and I am so excited to continue showing our great teachers how much they mean to us. As a former teacher myself, I understand how much of themselves these teachers put into our children’s education and well-being, and I want them to know that that doesn’t go unnoticed by our incredible community of families. I’m looking forward to working with all of you to share some love with our teachers.
Rachael Gottgetreu (she/her)
I am originally from Eugene but have lived in Portland for 19 years. I love living in Foster-Powell with my husband, 2 children and our Golden-Bernadoodle, Suki! Both my kids have been at Arleta since kindergarten. My daughter, Wren, is in 3rd grade and my son, Alder, is in 5th grade. I love camping, hiking, doing yoga, gardening and playing at the beach with family and friends. I was an elementary grades teacher with North Clackamas School District for 10 years and currently work at Arleta part time as an Educational Assistant. I’m excited to continue participating on the PTA board and celebrating the wonderful teachers at Arleta!
Megan Dilday (she/her)
I have two boys that attend Arleta, Finn (1st) and Ronan (Kinder). I am an Oregon native and my husband and I have lived in SE Portland for 15 years. This is my first year serving on the PTA board and I’m very excited to be co-chair on the events team. In my free time I enjoy volunteering with other community programs, gardening, reading and trying new Portland restaurants. I’m looking forward to meeting you all at the fun events we have planned for this school year.
Jessica LeShane (she/her)
Hello! I am mom to Calvin who just started 3rd grade with Ms. Williams! My family and I have lived in the neighborhood for over 10 years. Calvin has been sliding down the Arleta slide before he could walk; we are just 3 blocks away. We love our neighborhood and community and are invested in making it the best it can be for everyone. For the last 2 years I was on the Site Council where I lent my voice to issues that are critical to the success of all children, but mostly our children from underserved communities. We all win if they win! If you ever see me and have a question or just want to chat, please introduce yourself, I would love to meet you!
Arley Ann Laman (she/her)
I’m a born and raised Portlandian, and have lived in Foster-Powell since 2019. My partner (James), his son (Harper - 7th grade), and my daughter, (Dottie - 2nd grade) all love living in this neighborhood, and are very excited to be part of the Arleta community. This will be my first time volunteering for PTA, and I’m really looking forward to helping organize some very fun events for the kids and families!
I work in Business Development for a large plumbing manufacturer, so I travel a fair amount for work, and bring my family along whenever I can. We love road tripping, National Parks, camping, live music, The Portland Pickles, and the Blazers!
Adinah D'Andrea (she/her)
Along with parenting two wild hearted kids, Inez Indra-4th and Lou Iya-1st, with my husband Chris, I consider propagation and proliferation of plant species native to the West as my heart work and greenhouses as home away from home. My professional training is in horticulture and I’ve spent a couple decades working veins of the field including design, consulting and nursery production. I’m looking forward to continuing to help facilitate meaningful place-based immersive experiences for the kids here at Arleta and offer this land some care. Track me down if you have a vision or skill set that aligns!
Alyson Kraus (she/her)
I work for Portland State University as their state lobbyist. I’m the mother of three kids Elliot (6th), Theo (4th) and Corinne (1st). I’m really excited to continue Social Media for the school which has been my creative outlet the last few years!
Carrie Bowers (she/her)
This will be my 6th year serving on the PTA Board. I have one child at Arleta, Emery, who is currently in 5th grade. I have lived in SE Portland with my husband Jeremy since I moved to Portland in 2009. We moved into the Arleta neighborhood in 2017 and have been thrilled with all the wonderful people we have met since then. You will often see me around the school helping the office staff and teachers. When I am not volunteering at Arleta, I’m doing renovations for my new business Renovation Woman LLC and am also a care-giver for my father-in-law.
Lizzie Wiesehan (she/her)
I am originally from Austin, Texas, where I met my now husband, Theo. We moved from Austin to his native PNW home in 2015, and love raising our children here. Our son, Huck, is in first grade and had such a blast joining the Arleta community in kinder. I keep busy as the board president of Brooklyn Coop Preschool, where our daughter, Zelma, currently attends school. This will be my first year serving on the PTA at Arleta. I love being involved, fostering community and bringing people together! I have an eye for the details and a penchant for organization. Outside of school board responsibilities, I enjoy swimming, fly fishing, canoe trips, backpacking, knitting, laughing hard, and at the top of the list - skiing! Especially with the whole family. I look forward to meeting many of you this year!
The schedule for PTA-hosted monthly community meetings will be posted shortly.
