Volunteer opportunities have been centralized in Arleta's new family communication app, Konstella.

Arleta has several fun events throughout the academic year, and we need volunteers to make them happen! Please sign up for the activities that interest you and your student:

PTA/PPS Clothing Closet,  one assigned day in October and March, 9:30 am-1:30pm

The PPS/PTA Clothing Closet is where PPS students can "shop" for new clothes twice a year from 10 am - 1 pm when referred by a school counselor. We are required to have 5-7 volunteers to help families select clothes and sort donations. Please be on the look out to sign up as a volunteer for this fun and valuable role, any amount of time is appreciated! 

Arleta Crossing Guards, school days, 7:45-8 am 

4th and 5th graders (with signed permission slip) and parent volunteers can help people safely cross the street in the mornings before school. Talk to Learning Center Teacher Sarah Vidmar in person or email her at svidmar@pps.net if you are interested.

Lunch & Recess Support, school days, 10:45 am-12:30 pm 

We are looking for 2-3 volunteers each day to help monitor the playground and assist in the lunch room. This is a fun way to get to know the students and staff! Can you commit to one day a week, or an occasional lunch time? Email nfrancois@pps.net for more details.

Family Movie Night, various dates

We need volunteers to set up, sell concessions, and clean up for our first Family Movie Night of the year. Contact Melissa Sircy at melissasircy@gmail.com for more details. 

Litter Clean Up, 2nd Thursday at 2:15 pm & 4th Thursday at 8 am 

Grab a bucket & grabber at 2:15 pm on the 2nd Thursday each month and 8 am on the 4th Thursday of each month to pick up trash on campus. Drop off supplies when you're done. We will take care of the trash.. Hosted by Green Team.

Write an Arleta school review on the Great Schools website

This is part of our effort to encourage neighborhood families to check our Arleta and increase enrollment numbers to maintain staffing and programming.

Volunteers need to have passed a PPS background check and be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Visit the PPS website to start your application and screening process. (Once approved, your application is good for three years).
