PTA Committees' Initiatives & Projects

There are many great things happening at Arleta, from traditional to new events. 

Events

Plan & coordinate fun events to build community

Fall Family Dance Party

Students receive treats & prizes, then dance the night away at the 

Costume Dance Party in the cafeteria. Honoring fall celebrations including Lantern Walk, Halloween, and Día de Los Muertos.

Winter Holiday Bazaar

Students sell their hand-crafted products

PTA bake sale

End of the Year Picnic

Community event with family-friendly games, activities, and a free meal

Consistently showing our gratitude to teachers and staff for all they do

Monthly Treats in the Teacher/Staff Lounge

From baked goods, to fruit, to a variety of beverage options

Litter Clean Up on school grounds every 2nd & 4th Thursday of each month

Meet near the picnic tables between the 2 school buildings at morning drop-off. All supplies provided and any length of time helps.

Halloween Costume & Athletic Gear Swapfest

Gifting gently used Halloween costumes and  athletic gear, and picking up something (s) "new to you"

Earth Day Electronics Recycling

Event recycling unused electronics, in partnership with Green Century Recycling

Earth Day Student Pledges

Invite students to display one way they plan to help take care of the planet

Holiday Light Recycling

Pet Waste Stations

Install pet waste stations on school premises

Trash Receptacles

Collaborate with school administration and the City of Portland to install sturdy trash receptacles on school premises 

Fundraise by selling "We love Arleta" yard signs
